Chocolate covered Bliss Balls


All you can think about the whole day at work/school is an unhealthy snack, right?
But you know damn well you shouldn’t go out and buy it, because you know you don’t need it!

How about making your own healthy snack, that taste just like the unhealthy one you want?
I know right? Sounds too good to be true!

These chocolate covered bliss balls are just the snack you need!
With the delicious outside of dark chocolate and the smooth inside that taste like caramel – yum!

Makes 14 balls 

16 dates
1 dl cashew nuts
2 tsp chia seeds
1 dl oats
Pinch of salt
2 tsp maple syrup
20-30 g of dark vegan chocolate

Remove the stones from the dates, and afterwards soak the dates in warm water for 15 min.
Then strain the water from the dates, and combine the dates, cashew nuts, chia
seeds, oats,
salt and maple syrup in a food processor.

Let it blend for around 5 min. till all the ingredients are mixed well together.  Then roll your
dough into 14 balls, and then put them in the fridge for 1-2 hours so they can set and chill.

After the 1-2 hours, it’s time to melt the chocolate. Melt it over a hot water bath or in a microwave.
Then take the balls and roll them around in the chocolate until they’re covered. I use chopsticks
to roll the balls around; it’s a really easy method!

When all your balls are covered in chocolate, it’s time to put on your preferred topping.
I used dried strawberries and shredded coconut – but the sky is the limit!
You can use whatever you want! I recon’ matcha powder, chopped seeds/nuts or
liquorice powder (for the Scandinavians reading, haha) would be nice too!

And then but them in the fridge to let them chill, and after 30-40 min. they’re ready to be eaten!
